Nature Comes Home
Jan 28th 2022 Staff
We’re exploring 5 big trends in 2022 home design & décor and there is no doubt here: nature has come home. As we began to really look at sustainable resources and manufacturing a decade ago, we began to see reclaimed, up-cycled materials crafted into lighting. Here, where loft living and farmhouse style are both part of the lifestyle, the need for nature in home peeked over the horizon. But when Covid-19 sent us home to work, live and play, the craving for nature hit us like a tsunami. Soothing and gentle on chafed souls, nature heals. Outdoor living spaces are now imperative for a lot of us and we’ll delve into them in the next week or so. But in these cold, cold months of winter the connection with nature indoors is palpable.
Bringing home fresh flowers and houseplants aside, we find customers sourcing our made-from-nature lighting and décor. Fibers like seagrass, jute and hemp, chunky linen, and wicker are in the mix. Rattan, wood, stone, hide, and metals combine with fibers in tactile lighting fixtures that make home more textural and calm. Touchable.
Bringing nature indoors is a trend that is blossoming in unexpected ways. The lighting specialists at Madison Lighting can help you choose lighting and décor for a cabin in the woods or a spa in your townhouse. Adding nature to our homes is way past “seasonal” cottage charm. We’re loving how it looks, and how it feels to live in nature. Look for inspiration here and on Instagram.
