We love it when a lighting project comes together. It can be putting light was there is none. It can be swapping out existing fixtures for something you love. It can be a mini-reno or a full-blown teardown. It can even be a brand new home. The client is always at the center of the process here at Madison Lighting and we love being part of it. So when Ginger Martin from Magic 98 told us she wanted to refresh her screening room we were eager to jump in.

Ginger’s house is a lovely thing that she’s been redoing, a sunny kitchen with a dining area that wraps around into her living room, warmed by a big stone fireplace. She and her pal Truman, the Austrian Cattle Dog, entertain a lot. And the room they gravitate to is big, with deep leather seating, and another fireplace. They watch films, play cards and board games, and a few times each year Ginger turns the space into a dining room.

The house has a generous heart, just like it’s owner. And its Rustic Luxe look fits her lifestyle. Ginger loved the idea of wall sconces behind the seating. We loved the real, reclaimed, barn wood paneled walls and the brick fireplace. Sconces behind the oversized furniture? Yes!

Style – We embraced the wood with a lantern-like sconce.
Finish – A rich bronze finish melted our hearts in here.
Glass – When Ginger discovered Edison bulbs we suggested these sconces for the thick beautiful glass.
Proportion – Her screening room is good sized. We needed to up-size the sconces we were replacing.

Then, we suggested adding another fixture near the door to add convenience and safety. And we gave Ginger the ability to control the lighting without heading to the wall switch. The film starts, the lights go down. Who has the popcorn? Thanks, Ginger, for inviting us in. We loved it!
