Bringing the comfort of materials from nature into your home is not to denied! Collecting shells, beautiful river stone, and even sea glass, well, we can all relate. In the last few years, artisans have begun to craft home décor of materials found in nature and we find these items fly off our showroom floor. In 2017, lighting design has brought this craft to a new level with a trend riding a tidal wave, Organic Glam. It’s earth inspired with a modern chic. Designs incorporate textures and metals, with wood and stones. Crazy combos create amazing art in light. Inspired by nature, these materials look discovered, and in combination they give you lots of decorating options in your rooms. Like Nori, pictured here in weathered zinc and driftwood, it’s made by our friends at Feiss.

Organic Glam roams well with many home styles including contemporary, modern, traditional, or industrial. In fact it pumps in a bit of nature to soften the décor in a way that relates to us personally.

As this trend evolves, the materials continue to change in a sort of global way that makes a fixture resonate with you, a reminder of a day on the beach in Australia, or the afternoon you stood under the Eiffel tower. This year designers integrated some of the pieces with LED to give the materials themselves a glow from within as they light your room!!

As we refresh our nests this spring, take a look at Organic Glam and some of the other trends for 2017 like Soothing Stockholm, where the lightness of being is a lesson for our grey climate, Color!, a trend that advocates adding one stunning color to a neutral room, and Modern Farmhouse, with it’s warm embrace of America’s farmhouse amid a fresh new, airy twist. Our Watts Road showroom looks gorgeous, brimming with ideas. See you soon!
